In July 2025 I had the opportunity to be an En Plein Air painter at the ArtisTREE festival in Victoria, BC. This festival was held at the government house gardens and I got the chance to paint in the rose garden for 2 days as well as display my paintings.

It was a vulnerable experience to create art in front of hundreds of people walking by. Yet this also allowed people to see my process and experience the art of creation with me. My art was influenced by people who passed by. A child with a bucket hat sniffed a rose and I decided to paint them in the scene. The people became part of the process. I really enjoyed getting the chance to connect with people in such a unique way.

I believe art is not about perfection but it is about expression. This means that a huge portion of what makes something art is actually the process that goes behind it rather than just the final piece itself.

Thank you ArtisTREE 2025!
