Artist in Residence at North Park Neighbourhood Association
After 2 years of teaching art on my own, I found North Park Neighbourhood Association. I became the Artist in Residence for 1 year and my task was to be the Art Circle Facilitator/Teacher. I ran all kinds of workshops for the community with NPNA such as painting, drawing, knitting, sewing, beading and hand building clay. The intention of NPNA was to host free art lessons for the community to promote inclusivity and I am so grateful I got to be apart of this movement. Within my year at NPNA, I grew so much as an art teacher. I went from teaching ages 3-12 one at a time to teaching large groups of ages 3 all the way to 80. Yet the most profound part of my experience at NPNA was creating a safe space where everyone was free to make from a place of curiosity and playfulness. This environment allowed for the most beautiful connections to blossom and it is proof that art brings people together.
Thank you North Park Neighbourhood!
